Local dog show, Prince Albert Hall

9/21: Bob found a local informal dog show at a park nearby. The kids LOVED taking pictures of so many dogs!

A cricket game next to the dog show. This looks like quintessential England with the white mansion, large green park, and men dressed in all white playing cricket.

Having a blast!

These are a few of their favorites:

My favorite - an American Cocker Spaniel. She reminded me of a Gund stuffed animal!

We took the Tube into the city, walked through Kensington garden, and saw the Princess Diana memorial and Prince Albert memorial.

We had dinner at the Queens Arms (fish n chips!) and went to the Prince Albert Hall for Beethovens 9th symphony. Wow! Simone had never been to the symphony before, and Quinn had only been once on a class field trip in Denver. This was an amazing experience!

A full symphony and choir - beautiful!

Four soloists in front. Quinn definitely had a ‘funniest don’t laugh in church’ moment when the Tenor started singing. Later the kids told us he sounded like a yodeling horse. Ha!

We had a little adventure on the way home because the District line was down because of a ‘passenger disturbance’ at one of the stations. Sounds like a Saturday night! We took the Tube as far as we could, then tried to get on a city bus, but that got delayed too. Ultimately, being 11pm, we called public transport quits and called an Uber to finish our journey home. We enjoyed some ice cream and strawberries (Simone’s current fave) with an episode of Ted Lasso (kids are enjoying it!).
