Boating and muurikkas

6/20: After brunch we got ready to go on their boat. Under the direction of Captain Quinn, we went to a nearby island. We fished, relaxed, and grilled hot dogs!

Uncle Mats dove in!

Navigational marker for boats

There is a sunken ship only a few feet under the water - it’s not marked at all which we found unbelievable! Apparently the locals know where it is. Yikes!

We came home and headed ro Mats and Wendy’s great friends cabin (Nenne and Maj-lis). She is from Finland and made traditional Muurikka pancakes for us. SO delicious! They reminded us of crepes, but they were a little thicker and had a crispy edge. You put raspberry jam and whipped cream (‘snömos’ pronounced ‘snow moose’) on them - YUM!

Such a beautiful scene at their cabin!

One last stop at a beautiful point before heading home. Another full day - feeling thankful.
