6/21: Another gorgeous day for the start of summer! We attended the Midsummer celebration with the locals: we tried the traditional cinnamon rolls, entered the raffle (we won cinnamon rolls and an inflatable inner tube:-) and watched the men raise the midsummer pole.
After the pole raising we went over to Susanne and Hans’ cabin for the Midsummer meal. Such a beautiful scene!

Simone helped with the traditional cake (jordgubb tårta) |
Susanne (Mats’ sister), Hans (Susanne’s husband), and Leena (Wendy’s longtime friend from Finland) |
Uncle Mats pouring the champagne |
Wendy and Hans with the herring torte (YUM!) |
Simone and Susanne’s dessert. The small strawberries were wild growing roadside by their cabin! |
Singing traditional Swedish songs (usually followed with a shot of aquavit)
Leena brought a Packers koozie with her (she lives in Stockholm!) |
After dinner came a competitive Kuub game - Quinn came through in the clutch to knock down 3 in a row to win it! |
The evening was so beautiful - sunny, warm, and no wind, so we took both boats out for a ride |
Wendy and Mats’ home - guest cabin on the right. |
The water was glass calm - unbelievable for such a huge body of water! |
Captain Quinn in heaven at the wheel :-) |
