6/14: We started the day saying goodbye to our lovely first Airbnb after 3 nights.
We are struck by how much land and space there is. There will be miles and miles of open land, and then all of a sudden a house will appear. It definitely feels like a simpler life here.
First stop on the Golden Circle tour was the Gullfoss Waterfall

Charko loves Iceland!🇮🇸 |
One activity we didn’t do was snorkeling in the Silfra fissure. You can snorkel in 32 degree water (with dry suits) between the 2 tectonic plates of North America and Europe. The kids didn’t meet the minimum weight requirement, and they’ve never snorkeled, so we felt ok not having this be their first snorkel experience!

The snorkeling entrance at the Silfra Fissure - the water is crystal clear from glacier melt.

A top - rated pizza place finished off the day for us! |

We drove to our new Airbnb for a 2 night stay - what a gorgeous location!

Wow Paulsens! Amazing trip and great to see Charko! Sam and I recognized the Silfra Fissure snorkeling from The Amazing Race tv show - looked it up, it was in 2022 Season 34. You guys are doing your own, and even better (we think), AMAZING RACE through Europe! We're cheering for you!!! :-) - Eric, Kristin & Samantha
