6/16: We left our house in the countryside for the city condo outside Reykjavik. The memorable part of the drive was a 6k tunnel under the ocean!
The main event of the day was touring a Lava Tunnel that was thousands of years old. Really interesting (and cold!). Our guide was funny (English not her first language). There are many lava tunnels in Iceland, and many have not been discovered yet. There can be some huge holes between the ground and the tunnel (you can see this in some of the pics). She asked the group how we think some tunnels were discovered…no one knew. She said, “it’s because of the sheeps (“sheeeeps”). Not sheeps like boat, sheeps like baaa”
