9/17: The kids worked ahead a bit so we could spend today at the Tower of London. We got on the Tube in Richmond and took the District line all the way to where we needed to be. We love the public transportation around London.

Protecting the Crown Jewels |
We walked across the Tower Bridge and explored the other side of the river before walking over Millennium bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral.
 |
We forgot to bring Charcot along, so we're spelling out CMT in honor of CMT awareness month. |

Always representing the Pack! |
 |
We loved the bridge! Such a beautiful day. |
 |
We found a rooftop bar for a refreshment with a great view. |
 |
We thought The Shard was very cool, but decided not to spend the $140 to take the elevator to the top. |

Built on the site of St. Olave’s church, this is now part of London Bridge Hospital. |

St. Paul's Cathedral |
We arrived at closing time, and we'd had enough touring for the day, so we did not go inside. Instead, we took Quinn's lead and stopped at Pizza Express for a few appetizers before the 45 minute Tube ride home. We got a window seat and gazed at St. Paul's while we ate our disappointing mozzarella sticks ;-).
9/18: Our typical morning, with breakfast for the kids and getting them settled into schoolwork. Bob and I took a run, and then made our French press coffee. Bob continued trip planning and CMT work while I did meal prep.
A typical morning scene in our Richmond apartment: kiddos with fruit and toast with Nutella/butter (the current breakfast fad), and Bob working/planning. Quinn will set up for schoolwork at the table too, while Simone uses the desk in our bedroom downstairs. The kids have been playing loads of chess any chance they get - I think the current tally is Q 13 - S 9 :-)
We walked with the kids to the pool for their hour lap swim, came home for lunch, and got ready for our High Tea experience. This was something Simone really wanted to do, as she loved her high tea at the Cliff Bay Resort in Madeira with Brandy and Neve.
 |
Tea for Simone and me (and champagne :-), hot chocolate for Quinn, and an espresso martini for Bob (which I shared with him as it's my favorite!) |
 |
YUM! |
 |
We're so classy :-) |
