10/8: We woke up to another beautiful day, and took the opportunity to hike around Eibsee lake. Simone thought she could spare the time from schoolwork to join us, while Quinn felt better about staying home to get work done.

The water was amazingly clear and beautiful |

Simone and I arrived to this spot just before Bob, and instantly fell in love with this view. |

We each needed one! |

We had planned to go out to dinner, but the evening brought rain, so it wasn't great weather to be strolling around. I picked up pizzas from the grocery store in our building (our place is on top of a mall complex that has grocery/retail) and we enjoyed time at home with a few Wonder Years episodes. Bob introduced the family to these before we left home, and they have been a fantastic family experience. I don't remember watching them as a kid, but each episode brings up real topics that are applicable at Quinn and Simone's life stage. I love having the time and space for real, in depth discussions to happen with our kids. They happen at random times - maybe after a Wonder Years, or just walking around a lake - but being together all the time presents many great opportunities. Love!

Love laughing together |
As I was standing in the grocery line, I once again noticed the boxes of tobacco products covered with absolutely disgusting photos of what smoking does to your body. I took a picture, but I don't want to post it, as it isn't something I really want to see. The advertising on them is what intrigues me. Next to the gross picture, it says, "smoking causes strokes and disabilities." But right underneath that it says, "relax and take a break" and "enjoy the now."
I'm totally confused as to the legislation that regulates this industry in Europe. Did the pro-tobacco and anti-tobacco industries get together and agree to both post their messages? It's so strange!
